You are far too softhearted Ana. I'd recommend a regimen of five-mile runs at 5:00 a.m. followed by breakfasts of plain oatmeal and prune juice to toughen you up except that I know you are in good shape already.

DeleteA rule is a rule, and her hubby had specifically told her that reading romance novels wasn't allowed. How can anyone believe she didn't deserve to be spanked? Especially when she used the beef jerky funds and considered lying. She should have gotten her pumpkin muffin though.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your reply Emma :) I checked with the husband and he advises that he withheld the pumpkin bread muffin as a helpful way to keep his wife on her diet, as the 15 minutes she devoted to reading "Sensitive Man" that afternoon rather than vacuuming caused her to burn less calories than usual.

I passed along your sensible suggestion to the husband in question and he advises that his wife, once she's cleared the table and washed the dishes, will be put over his knee and treated to an after-dinner desert of "red rump steak" every night through Saturday.

She deserved the spanking for using grocery money to buy a book but not for reading it, or trying to read it anyway, because she was just wondering if the grass was greener....

I'm afraid I know little about cocktails, Celeste, as the only alcohol kept in our home is a quart bottle of malt liquor that I break out whenever Hubby gets a craving for my homemade "beer ice cream."

DeleteWere the book not already properly disposed in the garbage can and taken to the city dump to hopefully be buried under tons of trash, I would recommend to the husband in question that, as additional punishment, his wife be made to copy out the most tedious passages from "Sensitive Man" in her best handwriting while sitting in the corner in the "naughty chair."
I think she was wasting her time but who knows maybe the spanking would send her in the right direction and she would start reading hot hot books :)
